Composite resins are bonded with acid etching to teeth, whereas traditional metal fillings require bonding with cement. This means your dentist can leave behind healthy tooth enamel when removing and filling cavities. Further, the acid etching method provides a tighter bond, which means a composite filling gives more support to your tooth, which, in turn, contributes greatly to your long-term dental health.
